Job Title: Agricultural Economist

Duties:

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret supply and demand factors for federally insured crops
  • Develop price projections (price elections) for the upcoming crop year
  • Gather data and information about crops and crop markets through collaboration with various organizations
  • Plan and direct, special studies on price elections quality adjustment factors and distribution of liability
  • Serve as a resource and spokesperson for the Prices Branch at FCIC
  • Accurately enter price elections and corresponding data into databases
  • Write reports containing background research, program analysis, and price projection methodologies

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • A degree in Economics, including at least 21 semester hours in economics and three semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus
  • Specialized experience at the GS-11 level or higher or a combination of education and experience
