Job Title: Agricultural Economist

Pay Scale & Grade: GS 11 – 13
Duties:
- Identify, analyze, and interpret supply and demand factors for federally insured crops
- Develop price projections (price elections) for the upcoming crop year
- Gather data and information about crops and crop markets through collaboration with various organizations
- Plan and direct, special studies on price elections quality adjustment factors and distribution of liability
- Serve as a resource and spokesperson for the Prices Branch at FCIC
- Accurately enter price elections and corresponding data into databases
- Write reports containing background research, program analysis, and price projection methodologies

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- A degree in Economics, including at least 21 semester hours in economics and three semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus
- Specialized experience at the GS-11 level or higher or a combination of education and experience
- For GS-12 and GS-13 levels, specific knowledge related to the composition of agricultural commodity market research reports
